Emma is a registered chartered Clinical Psychologist and has worked in the National Health Service (NHS) in both adult, children, and adolescent mental health services. She completed her BSc degree in Psychology at the University of Southampton, her MSc degree in Mental Health at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Royal Holloway, University of London. She continues to work for the NHS in a national specialist children’s hospital and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.


Emma is passionate about working holistically to support clients to overcome difficulties that may be getting in the way of living a fulfilling life. She believes that creating a safe environment and a collaborative trusting relationship is fundamental for positive change to happen. She provides evidence based psychological therapy that is catered to her client’s unique needs and remains focused on their goals, by drawing upon her training in several different therapeutic approaches. Emma’s main therapeutic approaches are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy, compassion-focused, therapy and narrative therapy.

Emma is trained to provide psychological treatment for a range of difficulties across a spectrum of severity. This includes anxiety disorders such as social anxiety, generalised anxiety, panic disorder, health anxiety, phobias and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depressive disorders and low mood, trauma, and loss. She can also help clients with stress, sleep problems, psychosexual issues, low self-esteem, and adjustment to physical health conditions or changes to circumstances, for example changes to home or family life.

Emma has a special interest in working with adolescents, and values working alongside parents to facilitate a shared understanding and ensure that progress continues outside of sessions. She is able to tailor sessions to any special needs that a client may have, such as ASD, ADHD or learning difficulties.
