Dr Hatel Bhatt
Counselling Psychologist - Seva Psychology
Hatel believes therapy is a process that is collaborative and should be personalised in its approach. She acknowledges that we all look at the world that we live in and our experiences, in our own unique way. Therefore in therapy, she hopes to draw upon this distinctive process to then empower you to be able to take control and be in a position to make changes that you want to make.
Types of difficulties:
Hatel is able to work with a range of difficulties (please see previous page), these include anxiety, depression and phobias. Hatel has a special interest in trauma, burn out and managing health disorders.
Types of therapies:
Whilst Hatel mainly draws her clinical practice from cognitive behavioural therapy, she believes that therapy should primarily meet one’s needs and preferences, in order for it to most helpful.
Therefore, her core belief in therapy is to be integrative and to offer a range of therapeutic approaches to help with the challenges you are facing. Hatel has specialist experiences in offering therapy for trauma, and she has completed trauma specific training, and is currently training as an eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) therapist.
Hatel is able to offer brief/time limited to long term therapy.
Main approaches are:
-Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
-Trauma Focused Therapy
-Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
-Solution Focused Therapy
Hatel is currently training as an Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist, and is keen to offer this to support those who have experienced trauma and those with specific phobias or generalised anxiety.
In addition to the above, Hatel is a trained supervisor and has worked as a supervisor for over 3 years. She is keen to offer teaching and supervision to those in training and working privately or in the NHS.
