Virtual Reality Therapy

What  is VR Therapy?

VR Therapy for Phobias and Anxiety

Using cutting edge technology, Virtual Reality Therapy allows us to face your fears from the safety of the therapy room.

VR Therapy combines the immersive nature of Virtual Reality scenarios with traditional therapeutic techniques, and is based on the gold standard of phobia treatments: systematic desensitisation.

By placing you into immersive, tailored scenarios for your phobia, virtual reality - whilst not photo-real - triggers your fear response even though you are consciously aware that it is just a simulation.

Through monitoring your stress levels in real-time using GSR (Galvanic Skin Response) biofeedback we can pinpoint your exact triggering stimuli, and then - using a combination of hypnosis, cognitive and behavioural work - we work on desensitising you to it.

The use of VR allows us to do this in a safe space before we move out of the therapy room and into real-life scenarios.

VR Therapy can also be used for situational anxiety and G.A.D. (Generalised Anxiety Disorder).

It can be used for almost any common phobia, and quite a few uncommon ones: please get in touch to discuss your specific phobia and whether VR Therapy is right for you.

How long is treatment?

There is no set time frame for VR Therapy. VR is individual to the client. However, it will start with a consultation. Then the practitioner will discuss a treatment plan individual to your needs. Sessions will be booked in 1 hour slots and typically last for 50 minutes. To see the practitioners charges please head to their booking page. Its important to note that VR therapy may be suggested alongside other forms of therapy such as NLP, Mental Heath Coaching and Hypnotherapy.
